Lake Tahoe

After we found out The Summit was closing, Trevor and I searched far and wide to find the powder. It appears the whole western United States is experiencing warm weather, with little to no fresh snow predicted for the next couple of days. Silverton Mountain was nailed with 147” of snow in the past 15 days, but it is only open Thursday through Sunday, which doesn't help our cause.

We even looked into Valdez, Alaska and Thompson Pass for ski touring, but the plane tickets were above $600, a little pricey.... So we settled on Lake Tahoe, a mere 14 hour drive from Seattle. We are taking off tonight and hope to be skiing Alpine Meadows Sunday morning, on a large base of snow! Also on the agenda is Squaw and Kirkwood, but you know how road trips are, you just never know what is going to happen until you actually get there. Scheduled to be back by Wednesday morning, but that depends on how good the skiing is and what happens with the weather here in the great state of Washington. Better go charge my camera battery!
