The Tahoe trip was outstanding. Sun and corn snow on Sunday at Alpine Meadows, decent skiing Monday at Kirkwood and then two days of great pow at Kirkwood on Wednesday and Thursday.

I was impressed with Kirkwood. Although it is pretty far from Tahoe (an hour and a half), Kirkwood is at a higher elevation than the other resorts, and it received snow on the whole mountain on Tuesday, while the other resorts got mostly rain. Then a small weather system dumped on Kirkwood Tuesday night and all day Wednesday, providing ample powder. Combine that with no lift lines and laid-back resort, and things couldn’t have been better.
