We had intended to start at 7am, but my late arrival combined with Trevor’s car getting stuck in the snow saw us off late. The slog up the valley floor was interesting, given the limited snow coverage. However, we only had to take our skis off once at the very beginning. As we made our way around the bend and past Source Lake, we noticed huge surface hoar crystals shimmering in the shining sun.

We went into No Fog and hugged the cliff band to the looker’s left as we ascended, getting the to the outskirts of Draft Dodger Ridge without a hitch. The skin up Great Scott bowl was a nice change; it felt like we were in winter environment again. We even sat in the snow for about 15 minutes enjoying the snow; a ritual now dubbed a “snow sit”.

The ski down Great Scott was nice, although we had to be careful about hitting rocks. Once at the bottom of Great Scott, we made our way back over to No Fog and enjoyed some powder turns in there before reaching the bottom and beginning the short traverse back out.
