It had been snowing hard and the avi danger was quite high, so we decided to play it safe and ski in my backyard – the Kendall Clear Cut. Breaking trail proved to be a lot of work as a couple feet of Cascade snow continually tried to slow us down. We took turns leading, and eventually made it up to the top, where we settled in for a rest. After a couple of minutes, people began coming up our skin track.

We didn’t want anyone to poach our clean line off the knob, so we quickly de-skinned and made our descent. The snow was deep and heavy, providing great turns off the top. We made our way over to Bolton Alley and caught some more great pow turns before reaching the bottom. Tim decided to head back to his condo, as he was still recovering from pneumonia. Dale and I hoped back into our skin track and headed up to the top. There were at least eight other people on the knob and Dale decided we should head down the Southeast aspect of the face, as no one had skied that yet. It proved to be a great call as the powder was a little lighter.
