Trip Report
Dale, Mike and I opted for a mellow day and decided to get in a couple of runs on the clearcut. Wasn’t sure what to expect, as the sun had baked the snow for a couple of days. On the skin up, the snow started to soften in the late morning sun. Once at the top, we decided to ski down the Southeast side of the clearcut. The snow was actually in great shape, with a nice layer of slush providing some good turns. Our second run from the top down the race was similar. It wasn’t until we ventured into the trees on the way out that the snow became difficult.
