It hadn't snowed in awhile, but I needed to get out. Tim and I decided to try our luck in Alpental Valley, and made our way up the valley floor. Coverage was alright, and we made it without having to take our skis off - something I had to do numerous times on a ski tour up Alpental Valley in the end of December last year!

We were not exactly sure where we wanted to ski, possibly Great Scott Bowl or on the lower flank of Chair Peak. Once past Source Lake, we quickly settled on Chair Peak as it had decent coverage and was easily accessible. The sun was starting to heat things up and by the time we had reached our stopping point, the snow was soft and slushy. The ski down as decent, with over eight inches of unconsolidated, slushy keeping us on our toes.
