Trip Report
I had a rare weekday morning free, so I hit the early train and was on the snow and skinning before the sun was up. I quickly skinned up Commonwealth basin, and followed the river until I was able to cross it and begin the skin up Lundin. Around 7:30am I found myself on the icy and debris laden slope right below the chute, and quickly realized it was going to be a long time before the snow softened up enough to be a good ski. I decided to head to the North of Lundin and get on the ridge to Mount Snoqualmie. After lounging for a good thirty minutes in the snow, I put my gear on and went for the ski. The top part had softened enough for a good ski, while farther down was still icy hard.
