Where else is there to go for turns in October? A couple inches of new snow on the ground allowed us to skin from the parking lot. Fortunately, it was not that windy and the skin up was enjoyable. They were a large number of people out – I guess everyone need to get their ski in for the month.

Once up on the snowfield, we climbed up a ways and then settled in for a break on the side of the mountain. Out of no where three other parties came by in a matter of minutes and also took a seat. Tim and I waited for the fog to somewhat clear and then quickly skied down. The top turns were nice, but the fog rolled back in and it became difficult to see. About half way down it became downright treacherous, as the snow coverage was minimal. Both of us took hard falls, although there was no serious damage.
