It was a beautiful day and I was looking forward to my first tour in a month. Of course the clouds swept in during the late afternoon and the rain began to pound, but the rain let up and it looked like the sun would break through.

I met Tim and Trevor at Hyak and we all piled into Tim's truck and drove to the fire-pit, near the base of Silver Peak. We only had to walk about 20 yards before we were on a thin strip of snow and we donned our skins and started our ascent.

Upon reaching the forest, we had to take our skis off and walk a 100 yards or so before we were back on snow. The waterfall was just starting to melt through the snow and it began to rain pretty hard as we continued to climb. I was going at a rather slow pace, and Tim and Trevor took off ahead. Once I reached the base of the bowl, the rain let up, but the clouds wouldn't part.

We made our way over to the saddle, booted across a small swath of rocks and made a quick descent down one of the chutes. The snow was perfect spring corn and we were able to link some nice turns the whole way down.
