Annette Lake
Jul 12, 2004I got off of work and made my way down to the trail head at about 6pm. I had hiked this trail once before with Gunjan and recalled that it was a fairly easy hike, although there was some sustained elevation gain at the end.
In a hurry, I had grabbed a pair of cotton socks in place of my wool hiking socks, which turned out to be a big mistake. About ¾ of the way up I started getting blisters but continued on anyways. I finally made it to the lake and there was another person up there camping. I took a couple of pictures of the lake and tried to dodge all the mosquitos and then made my way down.
The blisters were starting to hurt but there was nothing I could do. I think this is only the second time in my life I have ever gotten blisters. Be forewarned, socks can make or break a hike...
