It was another solo day, and a chance to explore and scout some new lines for next winter. Taking a new variation, I made it up to Lake Lillian in a short amount of time and was skinning on the backside of Rampart Ridge when it began to snow. Fortunately, it was light flurries, and visibility was still good. I had scouted a couple of lines from my trip down Kendall, and popped up onto the ridge a couple of times, trying to find the ramp, but encountering the void of the open air and rock face instead.

Reaching the end of the Rampart Ridge, I decided to descend and work my way back to the original route instead of backtracking. Taking numerous scouting photos of Alaska and Alta, I had a nice ski down the upper portion, before picking my way through some rocks and into an open snow field that lead down to Gold Creek. An hour of skinning back Gold Creek and I was at my car.
