It hadn’t snowed in five days and the rare orange globe in the sky, known in other parts as the sun, had brought out the crust on some aspects. We turned to one of our north facing stashes that TNT had turned me on to last year, and found really good snow. There was a weak layer a couple feet down, but everything was reasonably stable and we saw nothing move while skiing down. The top foot of snow was nice and light, courtesy of the single digit temperatures that plagued the pass the last couple of days.
