The Muir Snowfield
Oct 27, 2006
With a sunny day popping up on the radar, it was time to get the October ski turns. I don’t think a day at Rainier would be complete without seeing some little animal, and today was no exception as a fox poked around our car in the early morning, probably hoping for some handouts. It was a standard early season tour, hiking to Pebble Creek and anxiously awaiting for the coverage to get just deep enough to skin. The ski was decent, with the October winds and some new snow smoothing the sun cups found in the summer months.
